GenAI Policy Statement

The Mizaan: Journal of Sharia, Law, and Economics permits the use of Generative AI (GenAI) provided it is transparently disclosed. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of their manuscripts. GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Permitted Use

Limited use is allowed under human supervision for:

  • Language editing, grammar checking, and translation.
  • Data visualization (without generating or manipulating findings).

Prohibited Use

  • Generating scientific content, arguments, or literature reviews without disclosure.
  • Including fabricated AI-generated references or citations.
  • Using GenAI in peer review or editorial decision-making.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors must include a "Generative AI Usage Statement" before the references if GenAI was used. Basic tools (spelling/grammar checkers) do not require declaration.

"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) utilized [NAME OF TOOL] for [REASON]. The author(s) reviewed the content and assume full responsibility for the final version."

Note: The journal reserves the right to reject or retract manuscripts with undisclosed GenAI use, in accordance with international standards and Scopus recommendations.
